Grit City Women Presents: Dr. Mandi Murtaugh

Dr. Mandi Murtaugh is a Physical Therapist and Board-certified Women’s Health Specialist with a passion for helping women through life’s transitions. Her work focuses on empowering women to live fully in their bodies through addressing pelvic floor dysfunction and challenging societal beliefs about women’s health. Too many individuals live with uncomfortable and limiting issues such as urinary leakage or painful sex, believing they are normal or just “part of being a woman.” Mandi’s passion lies in challenging those stories and helping women move beyond these limiting beliefs and symptoms through physical therapy and yoga.

A Montana native, she completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009 at the University of Montana, then found her way to the west coast. In 2017, after seven years of climbing the career ladder, she found herself exactly where she thought she wanted to be professionally, but realized she was burnt out and unhappy. So she quit her job, moved to Tacoma, got her yoga teacher certification, and earlier this year started her own clinic, Dr. Mandi Murtaugh Physical Therapy + Yoga. When she is not seeing her own patients and learning how to run a business, she is teaching yoga at Yoga Wild and coaching classes at Ascent Fitness.

Mandi will share how she navigated burnout and learned a better way to balance her personal and work life, how she has learned to embrace the cycles of life so she spends less energy "swimming upstream", and why she is so passionate about Women’s Health.
